ConTatto is a performance that explores intimacy through movement, presence, and attention to the smallest of gestures. At its heart lies the real love story between two men—one of whom became disabled after a spinal stroke ten years ago. From closely observing the way they navigate their daily life together—the way they touch, support, approach, and care for one another—I began to shape a choreographic language that could speak beyond words. Every contact between them becomes a story: of trust, vulnerability, and love. It felt essential for me to work with slowness and stillness—core elements of my practice—as a way to resist the urge to explain or impose meaning. Instead, I wanted to create space for the audience to enter their own emotional landscape, to reflect on what intimacy, care, and support mean to them personally.

Working with a real couple gave the piece its emotional grounding. Together, we explored archetypal postures of love—being supported and offering support, holding and being held, knowing how to give and how to receive. These gestures, drawn from everyday intimacy, carry both strength and vulnerability. Through repetition, they become poetic, symbolic, and deeply human.

An essential part of ConTatto is the dismantling of visual and spatial hierarchies. The performers are always on the same eye level as the audience—on the floor, close, equal. The wheelchair is intentionally absent from the stage, not to erase disability, but to shift focus: from the object to the relationship, from the visible marker of difference to the felt experience of connection. This choice invites the audience to meet the performers with openness, without assumptions, in a shared physical and emotional space.

ConTatto invites the audience into a suspended, intimate space where fragility becomes a quiet strength and stillness speaks with intensity. It is a performance rooted in the archetypes of love in all its forms—in presence and proximity, in support and care, in shared breath and delicate gestures. A profound reflection on the meaning of intimacy, care, and love.
