Fleshy   [2019]
durational performance

Performance: Federica Dauri
Concept: Federica Dauri, Hermes Pittakos
Sculpture: Hermes Pittakos
Produced by Peaches

The sculpture crafted by Hermes Pittakos forms a tapestry of abstract forms, flesh, organs, and genitalia, constructed from silicone and latex, punctuated with apertures through which Dauri's body fluidly enters and exits. This interaction initiates a gradual, metamorphic dance that blurs the boundary between reality and synthetic artifice. In addition, Fleshy serves as a durational performance where in the body seamlessly integrates with the sculpture, merging into a singular entity. The juxtaposition of skin against silicone accentuates this fusion. The performance unfolds as a hypnotic, slow dance, characterized by the entrancing rhythm of entering and emerging from the sculpture's apertures, evoking surreal and erotic visions.
